Welcome Event on the Esplanade
This event, originally scheduled for Thursday, September 26, was postponed due to rainy weather.
Every fall, the Yale Club of Boston hosts a reception to welcome new alumni and Yale-affiliated newcomers to Boston. It's a great opportunity to connect with new and familiar Yale faces, many of whom are recent graduates.
This year, we'll gather on the Charles River Esplanade on Thursday, October 17 from 7 to 9 pm. We've reserved a section of Night Shift Brewing's Esplanade beer garden, between Berkeley and Clarendon Streets along the Storrow Lagoon; use the Dartmouth Street footbridge (map) for access.
Admission is $27 per person, and everyone who registers will receive two free drink tickets, valid for beer, wine, hard seltzer, or soft drinks. There will be a food truck on site.
Ticket sales for this event have closed.
2024 President’s Cup
The Yale Club of Boston will hold its annual golf outing on Sunday, October 13. This year, we will play at the wonderful Fall River Country Club (map), a beautiful course with water views from most of the holes.
The event will include lunch at the snack shop, 18 holes of golf, a cart, prizes and an awards dinner.
The President's Cup is a mildly competitive event in which each foursome is a team. It is a best ball format: a team’s score for a hole is determined by the lowest individual net score. To facilitate this, we will contact registered players to ask you for your handicap. If you don’t have one, please tell us your typical score for 18 holes and we’ll assign one. We will tee off at about 1 pm. If we have enough players, the event will be a shotgun. The winning foursome will take home the prestigious President’s Cup.
The cost is $150 for Yale Club of Boston members and their guests, and $160 for non-members and their guests. If you can’t stay for the dinner, choose “Tournament Only” and save $25.
In order to make the proper arrangements with the Club, we need to have all sign-ups by Friday, September 27. If there is rain, we will reschedule for October 20.
There will be various contests with modest (voluntary) fees associated with them. Proceeds will be used to fund the Yale Community Service Fellowship program.
Please each out to golf@yaleboston.org if you have any questions.
Welcome Event on the Esplanade
Due to severe weather conditions, the Yale Club of Boston Welcome Event for today has been canceled. We are actively working on rescheduling the event and will notify you once a new date is confirmed. Your current tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled event. If we are unable to reschedule, a full refund will be issued.

Tours at the Frederick Law Olmsted National Historic Site
YaleBoston is proudly involved in the Yale Alumni Community Service Fellowship (YACSF). Each summer, we host and sponsor Yale undergraduates who receive a fellowship to work at community-oriented nonprofits. This year, we are hosting two fantastic interns: one is working at Preservation of Affordable Housing and one is working at the Frederick Law Olmsted National Historic Site.
If you’re a history buff, outdoor explorer, park lover, landscape architect, or curious Yalie, come join us at the Frederick Law Olmsted National Historic Site in Brookline (map) on Saturday, August 17. Public tours of the design office start at the top of the hour (i.e., 3 pm, 4 pm) and tours of the landscape start on the half hour (i.e., 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm). Join us whenever you can to meet our Community Service Fellow and learn about Frederick Law Olmsted, the mastermind of Central Park, the 1893 Chicago’s World’s Fair grounds, and our very own Emerald Necklace. Read more about Olmsted's connection to Yale in the Yale Alumni Magazine.
There is no entrance fee or charge for the tours.
Please register here to help us with headcount. As a courtesy to the site, we would like to limit our group to 25 people.
Many thanks to our donors to the Community Service Fellowship!
Red Sox Outing
Join us on Wednesday, August 14 as we revive our summer tradition of rooting for the Red Sox at Fenway Park (map)! Annual Summer Barbecue
We hope you'll join us on Sunday, July 14, from 4-7 p.m., for the Yale Club of Boston’s annual summer barbecue! We'll be serving food and playing lawn games at the American Legion Marsh Post #442 (map), a beautiful riverfront venue that's an easy walk from Harvard Square.
The barbecue is one of the club's largest annual events and consistently our most inter-generational one. Alumni of all ages and current students come together to swap stories of their respective times at Yale, forge friendships over delicious food, and watch a lazy summer afternoon on the Charles drift into evening. Tickets are $20 for members, $25 for non-members, and $5 for current students.
Note: There is a cash bar onsite for attendees 21 and over; bringing your own alcoholic beverages or having them delivered to the event are not permitted.
Do you have a favorite lawn game? Please feel free to bring it to the barbecue.
We're also looking for a few volunteers to staff the check-in/information desk for one-hour shifts and help with set-up and clean-up. Volunteers get free admission and first dibs on taking leftovers home. Please email youngalumni@yaleboston.org if you're interested.
Parking at the site is limited, so please also send us an email if you require special accommodations for parking. There is a small lot directly next to the venue, and we will reserve parking for those who indicate the need.
YaleBoston members often take photos at our events, which we enjoy using on our website and for other publicity. If you do not wish to appear in a photo, please alert the photographer.

Birthday Wishes’ mission is to provide birthday parties to children experiencing homelessness. Birthday Wishes believes that all children, regardless of their living situation, should celebrate their birthdays joyfully, surrounded by family, friends, and others who care. You can help make this happen for those children! Each Birthday-in-a-Box will be delivered to a homeless child and their family unit (up to 6-8 people) while they are staying at a homeless shelter.
We will gather virtually via Zoom on Sunday June 9th to watch a video about Birthday Wishes, get instructions on how to build a Birthday in a Box, and then build our boxes together from the comfort of our own homes. This project involves some upfront shopping, and volunteers can opt to deliver their finished boxes in advance or join us to drop off boxes at Birthday Wishes headquarters in Natick on Monday afternoon, June 10.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 8, on the 9th floor of 100 High Street, Boston. Doors will open at 6:00 pm, for drinks, hors d’oeuvres and networking. Club business will begin at 7:00 pm, and the keynote will begin around 7:15 pm. Beverages and hors d'oeuvres will be served.

In the fall of 1968, Soifer conceived and organized Co-education Week at Yale, a student-led protest that brought some 500 women to campus to live in the dorms, attend classes, and help push Yale President Kingman Brewster, Jr. to publicly announce that women would be admitted to Yale College in the fall of 1969.

Feb Club Emeritus 2024
“Feb Club” is a decades-old tradition among Yale seniors, in which, as a small but unmistakable act of defiance against the overlong New Haven winter, they throw a party somewhere on campus every night in the month of February.
Since 2007, alumni have joined in with “Feb Club Emeritus,” guaranteeing that there is a Yale party somewhere in the world every night in February. Feb Club Emeritus has only three rules:
No speeches. No fundraising. It's just a party.
Come join us for the most raucous party on our calendar. We’ve reserved the balcony at Scholars, a restaurant-bar-nightclub (depending on what time you get there) from 8-10pm on Saturday, February 24th. We’ll provide shared appetizers and one drink token per person for the cash bar.
General admission is $25 if you register by February 16th, and $30 thereafter –so get your tickets today! Yale Club of Boston members can register here for $20 at any time. (Not a member yet? Sign up here!)
Spread the word to all your Yale friends – we can't wait to celebrate with you!
Year of the Dragon with Yalies and Dim Sum
1stGenYale Boston and the Association of Asian American Yale Alumni Boston invite you to a family-friendly Feb Club* event.
Saturday, February 10, 2024
10:00 am – 12:00 noon
Joyful Garden, 550 Arsenal Street (Watertown Mall), Watertown, MA
RSVP: Mike Jin '13 (mike.jin13@gmail.com) or Linda Chin (linda.chin@1stgenyale.org)
Approximate cost per person: $20-$25
Joyful Garden has good food, plenty of parking, is accessible by public transportation, and seats several hundred patrons, but does not take reservations.
This gives us flexibility in terms of managing numbers of attendees and pre- payment, but to maximize our chances of getting seated at tables mostly together without having to wait too long, management has suggested that our group arrives together, close to opening.
* Every February, since 2008, Yale alumni around the world have come together in small gatherings and large groups. There is no agenda, no plan, no speeches. Feb Club is simply a way for Yalies the world over to get together.
Happy Hour at Tiki Rock!
Join us for a casual after-work happy hour at Tiki Rock! We'll gather on February 1, from 5pm-7:30pm-ish, in their Downtown Boston location at 2 Broad Street. The event will be hosted by the Young Alumni Committee, but all are welcome to attend.
No need to RSVP - just bring your tropical spirit and a friend or two from the Yale community. While the club will be covering light appetizers, please note that everyone is responsible for purchasing their own drinks. It's the perfect start to your February, not to mention a great opportunity to forget about the cold weather!
