Tickets are now available for the Yale Club of Boston’s 2024 Annual Meeting! Our keynote speaker, Avi Soifer YC ’69 LAW ’72, will take us back to 1968 and the events that led to coeducation at Yale.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 8, on the 9th floor of 100 High Street, Boston. Doors will open at 6:00 pm, for drinks, hors d’oeuvres and networking. Club business will begin at 7:00 pm, and the keynote will begin around 7:15 pm. Beverages and hors d'oeuvres will be served.
Our Keynote Speaker
Avi Soifer holds an undergraduate degree from Yale College, a Masters in Urban Studies from Yale, and a J.D. from Yale Law School. He has taught law at the University of Connecticut and Boston University, and served as the Dean of Boston College Law School and the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawai’i. But even before he began his distinguished career, he was instrumental in bringing about a milestone in Yale’s history. In the fall of 1968, Soifer conceived and organized Co-education Week at Yale, a student-led protest that brought some 500 women to campus to live in the dorms, attend classes, and help push Yale President Kingman Brewster, Jr. to publicly announce that women would be admitted to Yale College in the fall of 1969.
