Outing at the Yale Golf Course

The Yale Club of Boston will be hosting a renewal of the President’s Cup Golf Outing and Tournament at the Yale Golf Course on September 10, 2023 (Rain date – September 17).
The Yale Golf Course is often included in lists of the top 100 courses in America. In James W. Finegan’s book Where Golf is Great, he writes that the 16th at Scotland’s North Berwick (West) “obviously inspired the similarly eye-popping 9th green at Macdonald’s mighty Yale University course.” Unfortunately, the course will be closed for renovation for all of 2024 and most of 2025, so this is a precious opportunity to play at Yale before its extended shutdown.
The winning foursome will take home the prestigious President’s Cup pictured here. This will be a best ball format, in which a team’s score for a hole is determined by the lowest individual net score.
We will have the opportunity to gather at Mory’s on the evening of September 9 for a pre-tournament kickoff. A post-event meal at Mory’s may also be possible.
We have reserved a block of ten hotel rooms at the Courtyard New Haven at Yale, at 30 Whalley Avenue, for Saturday September 9, at a special rate of $214. Reservation can be place through this link. The last day to book these rooms is August 10, subject to availability in the block.
The cost include greens fees, a cart and a box lunch. Tee times will start at about 11AM. We have reserved enough tee times for 40 golfers. Reach out to golf@yaleboston.org if you have any questions.
